Building Information Modeling Workshops
Building information modeling (BIM) is the creation and use of coordinated, internally consistent, computable information about a building project in design and construction. The AEC industry is moving towards BIM as it standard because it allows architects, engineers, builders, and owners to explore a project’s key physical and functional characteristics digitally - before it’s built, creating better coordination, improved accuracy, and the ability to make more informed decisions earlier in the process.
Because of this movement towards BIM, ACB Solutions is partnering with the Associated General Contractors of Alaska to provide BIM training for this industry.
Two workshops are scheduled for early December. These workshops are designed to provide information on building information modeling, what it is, the benefits, and how to implement it in projects.
The first session is Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and will be a general overview of BIM.
The second session, BIM for Construction, is Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This session will cover BIM specifically for the construction industry.
The workshops will be held at the AGC office in training room 1.
These sessions are free but you must register to attend. To register for these sessions fill out the registration form and return it to Christine Gibbs at cgibbs@akcbsolutions.com or by fax to 907-267-4243.
